Prayer for the 40th Day of Death

Merciful and Loving Father,
Today we remember our beloved on the 40th day of their passing. Though our hearts still grieve, we thank You for the gift of their life—the love they gave, the lessons they taught, and the memories we cherish.

We entrust their soul fully into Your hands. May they rest in Your eternal peace, embraced by Your mercy, and surrounded by Your everlasting light.

Comfort us, Lord, as we continue to mourn. Heal our hearts and give us strength to carry their legacy with love and honor. May we live each day with faith, hope, and the assurance that we will be reunited in Your perfect time.

And Lord, we offer a special Prayer For Parents who grieve a child, and for children who grieve a parent. Wrap them in Your peace and restore their joy in Your presence.

Reflection

The 40th day is a sacred moment of remembrance and release. While we let go with sorrow, we also hold on to faith—believing that God’s love is greater than death.
