God Is Not Just a Concept—He Is the Eternal, Living Creator
The Bible reveals God not as an abstract force or distant being, but as a personal, eternal, and holy Creator. He is the central character of Scripture, the One from whom all life flows, and the One to whom all creation will ultimately return.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” – Genesis 1:1
This opening verse sets the foundation for everything that follows. God is preexistent, self-sufficient, and all-powerful—He exists outside of time and space, and everything begins with Him.

God’s Nature and Attributes
Throughout Scripture, God reveals who He is through His names, actions, and covenants. Here are some key truths about His character:
1. God Is One, Yet Triune
The Bible teaches that God exists in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity—three distinct persons, yet one God.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” – Deuteronomy 6:4
“Go therefore and make disciples… baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19
2. God Is Holy
God is morally perfect, pure, and set apart from all sin. His holiness is not just one attribute among many—it defines everything about Him.
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” – Isaiah 6:3
3. God Is Love
God’s love is not conditional or transactional—it is eternal and sacrificial. The supreme demonstration of His love is the giving of His Son for our salvation.
“God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us… that He sent His only Son.” – 1 John 4:8–9
4. God Is Just
God is righteous in all His ways. He judges sin without partiality. His justice ensures that evil does not go unpunished, yet He extends mercy through Christ.
“The Lord is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His works.” – Psalm 145:17
5. God Is Sovereign
He rules over all things—nations, nature, time, and history. Nothing surprises Him, and nothing is beyond His control.
“Our God is in the heavens; He does all that He pleases.” – Psalm 115:3
How God Reveals Himself
God doesn’t remain hidden. He reveals Himself in several ways:
- Through Creation – The heavens declare His glory (Psalm 19:1)
- Through Scripture – The Word reveals His nature, will, and plan (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Through Jesus Christ – The visible image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15)
- Through the Holy Spirit – Who convicts, comforts, and guides (John 14:26)
God is both infinite (beyond comprehension) and intimate (near to the brokenhearted). He is glorious, yet personal. Transcendent, yet accessible.
Final Truth
The God of the Bible is not made in our image. He is not shaped by human opinion. He is unchanging, eternal, and worthy of worship. To know God is the greatest pursuit of life.
“This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” – John 17:3
