Topic: Faith in Uncertainty
Verse of the Day:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)
Devotion:
One of the hardest places to be in life is the in-between. That space between what was and what will be. The season when the next step isn’t clear and the roadmap has more questions than answers. It’s uncomfortable, even scary—but it’s also where God does some of His best work.
Psalm 119:105 tells us that God’s Word is a lamp to our feet—not a spotlight for the whole road. In ancient times, a lamp would only give enough light for the next step or two. That’s often how God leads us—not with a detailed blueprint, but with just enough grace and guidance for today.
If you’re in a season where you don’t know what’s next, you’re not alone. Abraham had to leave without knowing where he was going. Moses led the people through a desert with no destination in sight. Even Jesus walked into a wilderness before stepping into His calling.
Uncertainty doesn’t mean you’re lost—it just means you’re being led. God isn’t asking you to figure it all out. He’s asking you to trust Him one step at a time. That’s what faith really is: moving forward when you don’t have all the answers, but you’re holding on to the One who does.
Don’t let the fear of the unknown stop you. Take the step. Follow the light. You may not know what’s next, but God does—and He’s already there, waiting for you.
Prayer:
Father, I admit that I don’t always like not knowing what’s ahead. I want answers, clarity, and control. But today, I choose to lay those things down. I choose to trust You with the parts of my life that feel uncertain. Remind me that You are with me, guiding my steps, even when the path isn’t fully clear. Help me lean into Your presence instead of my plans. Strengthen my faith so I can keep walking, even in the dark. Thank You for being my lamp, my light, and my guide. In Jesus’ name, amen.
