Verse of the Day:
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)
Devotion:
God is not a man that He should lie. His Word is not a suggestion—it’s a promise, and every promise He makes, He keeps. In a world filled with broken promises, changing minds, and unreliable people, God’s faithfulness stands out like a lighthouse in a storm. His Word is true, and His character is unshakable.
2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds us that all of God’s promises are “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ. That means when God says He will provide, protect, heal, restore, or save—you can count on it. He doesn’t tease us with hope or delay just to discourage us. His promises are sure, and they are for you.
Think about Abraham. God promised him a son when it seemed impossible. Decades passed, yet God remained faithful. Sarah laughed, Abraham questioned—but in time, Isaac was born. God always comes through, but it’s on His timeline, not ours.
You may be holding onto a promise that hasn’t come to pass yet. Maybe it’s healing, provision, reconciliation, or purpose. Don’t let the delay discourage you—let it develop your faith. God is not done. He has not forgotten. And His promise is still alive.
His “Yes” may not look like what you expected. It may come through a different door, in a different season, or in a different way. But if God said it—He will do it.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being a promise-keeping God. So often I’m tempted to doubt when the answer doesn’t come right away, but Your Word reminds me that Your promises are always “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ. Help me to cling to what You’ve spoken over my life. Strengthen my faith when I grow weary. Teach me to wait with expectancy and trust that You are always on time. I believe You are working all things together for good, and even when I don’t see it yet, I will praise You for what’s coming. Thank You for Your faithfulness, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Reflection Questions:
- What promise from God are you holding on to in this season?
- How has God kept His promises to you in the past?
- What can you do today to actively trust Him while you wait?
