Prayer
Loving and Merciful God,
Today we lift up a grieving heart—a parent who has lost a child. Lord, there are no words for this kind of pain. Only You can enter the depths of this sorrow and bring comfort that truly heals.
Hold them close in their heartbreak. Let them feel Your presence in the silence, in the questions, and in the tears. Remind them that You are still God, even when nothing makes sense, and that You weep with them.
Surround them with people who will love without needing answers, and speak peace over their soul when hope feels out of reach. Help them to breathe again, to grieve fully, and to trust that in time, You will bring light even into this darkness.
Receive the soul of their beloved child into Your eternal care, where pain is no more and love is forever.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
Losing a child breaks something sacred. But even in that unthinkable pain, God sits with us, weeps with us, and promises to carry us through.
