Verse of the Day:
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.” – Psalm 77:11 (NIV)
Devotion:
Sometimes the best way to move forward is to look back—not in regret, but in remembrance. When life gets heavy and faith starts to fade, remembering what God has already done can breathe fresh hope into your present situation.
In Psalm 77, the writer is overwhelmed and anxious. He’s crying out to God but feels like heaven is silent. Then something shifts. He makes a decision: “I will remember the deeds of the Lord.” He chooses to reflect on God’s faithfulness—on the miracles, the victories, the breakthroughs of the past.
Why? Because remembering builds confidence. It reminds us that the God who brought us through before will do it again. Every answered prayer, every door He opened, every moment He showed up in your life—those are stones of remembrance that strengthen your faith for today.
The enemy wants you to forget God’s goodness. He wants you to focus only on your present struggle. But when you take a moment to recall how far God has brought you, your perspective changes. Fear begins to fade, and faith begins to rise.
You’re not standing on empty ground. You’re standing on the track record of a faithful God. So today, pause and remember. Write it down if you need to. Remind your soul that you’ve seen His hand before—and you’ll see it again.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the countless ways You’ve been faithful to me. When I face challenges or feel uncertain about what’s ahead, help me to remember what You’ve already done. Remind me of the times You healed, provided, protected, and made a way when there was none. Stir up gratitude in my heart and confidence in my spirit. Help me to hold onto Your past faithfulness as fuel for future faith. I choose to look back—not to dwell in the past, but to find strength in Your unchanging goodness. Thank You for never failing me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
