Verse of the Day:
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
Devotion:
Few things shake our faith like silence from God. You pray, you wait, you listen—and all you hear is quiet. No sign. No open door. No whisper. It can feel like God is distant or disinterested. But let me assure you: God’s silence is never a sign of His absence.
Sometimes, the silence is strategic. God is not ignoring you—He’s inviting you to trust deeper. He’s teaching you to walk by faith, not by feelings. When Israel stood before the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them, they were terrified. It felt like God had brought them there only to leave them stuck. But Moses declared something powerful: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
In seasons of silence, God is still moving. He may be working behind the scenes, aligning circumstances, preparing hearts, or building strength in your spirit. Silence isn’t abandonment—it’s often the soil where faith grows roots.
Think about it—when you take a test, the teacher is silent. Not because they’re gone, but because they’re watching you apply what you’ve learned.
So if heaven seems quiet right now, don’t panic. Don’t assume you’ve been forgotten. God is closer than you feel, more involved than you know, and more faithful than you imagine.
Stay still. Stay faithful. He’s fighting for you—even in the silence.
Prayer:
Lord, sometimes Your silence feels overwhelming. I cry out and long to hear Your voice, yet all I hear is quiet. But I choose today to trust that You are still near, still working, and still good. Help me not to confuse silence with distance. Strengthen my heart to remain still in Your presence, confident that You are fighting battles I cannot see. Even when I don’t feel You, remind me that Your love never leaves. Grow my faith in the quiet places, and let my soul rest in Your promises. I know You haven’t abandoned me. I trust You fully. In Jesus’ name, amen.
